Actions by Diocesan Council through e-mail votes.
The meeting was cancelled due to inclement weather.
The minutes of the email actions were adopted at the November 9 meeting.
The next meeting will be held on Wednesday, November 9, 2005
St. Agnes', Little Falls.
Please note that the December meeting will be held on the FIRST Wednesday -
December 7, 2005 when the Profile of the Diocese will be adopted.
Because of heavy rain and road flooding conditions, the meeting of Diocesan Council was cancelled.
Items of business that required votes were handled through e-mail communication and are noted below.
E-mail votes were taken on the following items.
APOSTLES' HOUSE BOARD ELECTION
Motion: RESOLVED, That Mr. Kenneth Schultz be elected
to the Board of the Apostles' House until the December 2005 meeting of the Diocesan Council.
The Apostles' House Board was elected by the Diocesan Council at its December meeting. The resolution was to elect
Mr. Schultz to the Board until that time. Mr. Schultz was an attorney with the firm of Skoloff & Wolfe. The
election was part of a process to rebuild the board. The other board members were The Rev. John Ryan, President;
Mr. John Zinn, Vice President; Mr. Ross Mangina, Treasurer; Mr. Cesar Torres, Secretary; Mr. Gil Towell; Ms. Sandra
High; Ms. Patricia Yankus.
The motion adopted by e-mail vote.
MILEAGE REIMBURSEMENT ADJUSTMENT
The Standing Commission on Clergy Compensation recommended that the mileage reimbursement be adjusted to the IRS
approved rate of 48.5 cents per mile. The rate was an increase from the 40.5 cents per mile approved at the Diocesan
Convention. The increase was for the time period of September 1 to December 31 in response to the increased gasoline
costs.
Motion: It was moved and seconded to increase the mileage
reimbursement as recommended by the Standing Commission on Clergy Compensation from 40.5 cents per mile to 48.5
cents per mile.
The motion was adopted by e-mail vote.
Through email communication members were advised of the following:
BISHOP'S COMPENSATION STUDY
Ms. Faith Gideon Brown reported that the Standing Committee requested from Diocesan Council a report on comparative
salaries for diocesan bishops. The Steering Committee would welcome assistance from additional members to conclude
the study.
Please note that the December meeting will be held on the FIRST Wednesday -
December 7, 2005 when the Profile of the Diocese will be adopted.
