A Message from the Bishop

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

The Church Development Institute (CDI) model offers training in just the sort of skills most needed by many of our congregations.

Since becoming your Bishop, I have focused on the life of our congregations, for that is where the Church equips the saints of God (you) for ministry. We are actively identifying and developing resources to improve the health and capacity of our congregations; CDI is one such resource that is being used successfully around the country.

One of our clergy, The Rev. E. Bevan Stanley, is an experienced CDI trainers and has agreed to offer this program for our Diocese. Another diocesan resource, The Congregational Development Fund, will subsidize half of the cost of your participation.

We still have far to go in our efforts to build up the body of Christ in order to do mission. I hope you will prayerfully consider taking advantage of the CDI training in our Diocese of Newark.

Faithfully,

+The Rt. Rev. John Palmer Croneberger
Bishop of Newark
