Here are the minutes of our February 26, 2008 meeting held at St. Elizabeth’s Church, Ridgewood.

The meeting opened at 7:30 pm with Evening Prayer offered by The Rev. John Hartnett.

BUSINESS MEETING

The following new representatives were introduced:

• Marjorie Taylor and David Chase, St. Bartholomew’s, Ho-Ho-Kus
• Chris Walsh, St. Elizabeth’s, Ridgewood

The agenda was presented and approved.

A motion was made and seconded to approve the minutes of the November 13, 2007 meeting.  The minutes were approved.

PROGRAM:  Mission and Ministry of District 10 with St. Paul’s, Paterson

John Hartnett introduced the Ministry Expert guests from St. Paul’s, Paterson.

John Hartnett used the Letter of Paul to the Philippians 1:3-6, 9,10a to initiate small group and whole group discussions about representatives’ experiences with shared ministry.  Several suggestions were made for next steps to take.  These include:

• Ministry Open House at St. Paul’s with food
• St. Paul’s could take it’s Ministry Traveling Show to other churches
• Participate in District 10 Confirmations
• Confirmation Retreat—make meal for Men’s Shelter, St. Paul’s
• Social event for whole district
• Youth go to Spanish-speaking service to practice Spanish

Alice Palmer reported the last Diocesan Council meeting was an introductory meeting; there was nothing to report.

Emily Rennie reported that the Senior Ministries Evensong and David Hegg Awards will be held on June 8, 2008 at St. Michael’s Church, Wayne.  Award application forms will be distributed soon.

John Murphy reported that the District 10 Admin. Fund had a balance of $512.48.  Since we are beginning a new year, donations to the Admin. Fund is encouraged.

Announcements:

Dagi Murphy announced that Prince Singh has been elected Bishop of the Diocese of Rochester, NY.  There will be a farewell service at St. Alban’s on March 30 at 5:00 pm (RSVP.  St. Alban’s is also trying to arrange a bus for those who want to go to the Consecration at Rochester on May 31.  More details will be distributed.

John Hartnett opened a discussion on future meeting locations.  The following schedule was agreed upon:

Wednesday, May 21, 2008 at St. Alban’s, Oakland/Franklin Lakes

Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2008 at St. Clement’s, Hawthorne

Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2008 at Good Shepherd, Midland Park

John Hartnett gave the closing prayer.  Charles Arlin gave the blessing

The meeting adjourned at 9:15 pm.
