SUCCESSFUL 'ALTERNATIVE' -- St. Stephen's Millburn raised just over $6,000 for 11 charities at its first Alternative Gift Fair on Oct. 13. Attendees were able to make a donation to a charity in the name of a friend or loved one and received a gift card and handmade ornament to give to that person. Participating charities were: Episcopal Relief and Development, Community Food Bank of NJ, New Jersey Conservation Foundation, Heifer International, SEEDS, IHN, Cancer Care, Habitat for Humanity, South Mountain Conservancy, Save the Children and Bread for the World. All but one had representatives present. Volunteers from St. Stephen’s helped to set up, bake goodies, sell baked goods, staff tables, greet visitors and clean up.
