| From the Diocese of Newark The VOICE Online An opportunity for a “crucial conversation” will present itself at St. Elizabeth’s Church in Ridgewood on Saturday, April 19. The Women’s Commission, the Episcopal Church Women and the Youth Ministries of the Diocese of Newark are sponsoring this mini-conference to examine The Reality of Violence in the Lives of Women and Girls. All one has to do is read the newspapers to recognize the “state of emergency” of a society in which violence pervades the bodies, minds and spirits of girls and women today. Both men and women are invited to spend the hours from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in meditation conversation, worship and planning in a search for ways to change the pattern in our churches, our schools, our communities. Bring a bag lunch; dessert and beverages will be provided. A donation of $10 will cover resource materials.
