Dear Friends,

I have combined the “minutes” for our November meeting and the agenda for the upcoming meeting. Our next meeting will be

December 3 at Holy Innocents, West Orange for Supper and Meeting. We will meet at 6:30 for an Advent Quiet Time with the meal beginning at 6:50.

THIS WILL BE A CRITICAL MEETING. PLEASE PLAN ON ATTENDING SO THAT YOU CAN INPUT TO SOME MAJOR DECISIONS.

1. As those of you know who attended the November meeting at St. Peter’s I will be resigning as Convener effective after the December meeting. After serving nearly 2 years I feel that it is time for another leader to carry us into the new year. Also my school responsibilities continue to be heavy and requiring much additional time. And so…

We must elect a new Convener at the December meeting.

Those of us present at the last meeting felt that it would be wonderful if the District 3 convener could a Lay Convener rather than a Clergy Convener. Please, both clergy and lay, think about who (yourself?) could lead District 3 as we continue to do more good work in the coming months.

2. We brainstormed around having our focus for Spring, 2003, be the Confirmation on May 4, 2003 at St. Mark’s. Please see “Brainstorming on Next Focus Area” attached for all the super ideas brought up at this meeting. We will firm up plans at the December meeting.

3. Additional elections: Lay Diocesan Council representative and a youth deputy for District 3 to Convention.
