to be done with a group of people -- vestry, greeters,
church growth committee, entire congregation!
This activity focuses on the fact that, while Church
Growth has a great deal of appeal and the good news
is that church growth is achievable, it inevitably
comes with a cost attached. We are so conditioned to
the belief that growth is, of course, what we want,
that we never look at the potential costs. Good News/Bad
News is set up to help the group step back and do just
that.
Required materials: news print and markers, copies
of the questions, copies of the stressors list (questions
and list of questions are linked to the web page) and
the directions posted on the web page, as well as enough
space for small groups to break away and do their brainstorming.
