“Start Up! Start Over!” is a 4-day workshop experience sponsored by the ECUSA Congregational Development Office and coordinated in partnership with the Episcopal Church Building Fund. It provides practical, goal oriented congregational development and growth training and offers to benefit

• thriving congregations ready for their next step
• congregations that have hit a growth plateau seeking new energy
• congregations in decline needing a new direction
• those planting a new church

Agenda topics for each workshop include:

• The basic principles of congregational development
• Dealing with conflict and resistance to change
• Theory of Congregational Life-Cycle: How congregations develop and decline
• The use of multi-media in congregation life and worship
• Interpreting your congregational demographics to program towards growth
• Understanding generational differences and reaching the unchurched members of the electronic culture
• Marketing & conducting a campaign to invite new members
• Making your site and buildings inviting to the visitor
• New member incorporation - how visitors become involved members of a congregation
• Planning church space that is within your budget, appropriate for your future
• Leading in changing times: The differential leader
  
  Costs are based on location and lodging. The 2005-2006 prices range between $750 to $625 per person single occupancy, with lesser prices for double occupancy or commuters.
