[Daily Record] The Community of St. John Baptist would like the chance to welcome everyone to come meet them. Anytime.

“I’m sure a lot of people don’t realize that this place is really open to the public. You can just come in and ask to sit in the chapel or ask to walk the labyrinth,” said Sister Eleanor Francis, mother superior of the community.

“We have a lot of different programs that are open to the public and that’s what always surprising to people. Many people sit out on the Cloister when the weather is nice and talk and meet with people for spiritual direction. It’s wonderful to get together.”

The Community of St. John Baptist, an Episcopal Community for Women, is located at 82 West Main St. in Mendham. It was founded in England in 1852 by Canon Thomas Thelluson Carter and Harriet O'Brien Monsell, the widow of a clergyman.
