News from the NECC
The National Episcopal Cursillo Committee (NECC) met in the Diocese of Albany (New York) for their 3rd quarterly meeting. Some key items of interest:
- The NEC Seminar (an annual event) is being held this year in Dallas, Texas (Diocese of Dallas) from October 2-4 at the DFW Lakes Hilton. The cost of attending the seminar is $170 (if registered before Sept. 1) and $180 after Sept. 1. This is a great chance to strengthen your understanding of the Cursillo Movement, fellowship, worship, and just have fun. The recent 4th Day magazine has the details or you can contact anyone on the Secretariat.
- There will be two Episcopal Cursillo Leaders Workshops (ECLW) in the NE District (our district) in the next few months. The Diocese of Pennsylvania is hosting one on Sept. 25-27 and the contact is Dave Adams (610-323-0534). The Diocese of Virginia is hosting the other on Nov. 20-22 and the contact is Ted Simpson (703-273-1019). This workshop is a great opportunity to strengthen the Sunday message and one's understanding of the tools of the Fourth Day.
- The Fourth Day Meditation Guide is a wonderful book to enhance one's Study and support your Piety. The guide provides a daily meditation (for the whole year) complete with readings, a thought or meditation, and questions to ponder. It is a wonderful book for your library or a gift for a friend. The cost is only $10 and can be purchased by contacting a member of the Secretariat.
- You can help support the work of the NECC across the country and the world. One good way is through your prayers and another is by contributing to Fund 2000 - Phase III. This phase is designated to support local diocesan movements for developing the Cursillo Movement in their diocese or in supporting local movements assisting in exporting Cursillo to other dioceses or countries (e.g., Cuba). Any contributions can be sent to the NEC Office (P.O. Box 1967, Vienna, VA 22183-1967). Please prayerfully consider giving to this fund.

Next Issue of the NewArk
The full issue of the NewArk has been postponed until September while we gather articles on Piety, Study and Action. Contributions are very much needed. This is your newsletter not the editor's and should reflect what you have taken into your Fourth Day. We would very much like to hear how you are working your Fourth Day. Please submit articles to the editor, Louise Clarke. Any format or media will be accepted but e-mail and/or typed copies on diskette would be most appreciated.
