Fourth Day Weekend
After much thought and prayer, the Servant Community decided to reschedule and reshape November 1998's 4th Day Weekend.
There were many reasons – not the least of which was the Bishop's Consecration on November 22nd.
In rebuilding the body, we need to remain aware and vigilante of our resources and energy.
Frank Runyeon has graciously agreed to work with us so that sometime during 1999, we can offer his acclaimed presentation of the Sermon on the Mount for all of us to experience.
Keep reading the NewArk for dates of all upcoming events.

Continuing The Dialog Conference
Carol Haefele, Joe Stewart, & Cathie Studwell
On October 10th the Secretariat and Servant Community hosted the first part of a year long conference at Christ Church in Pompton. We thank everyone who attended for contributing their thoughts and feelings about our Cursillo community, it's present journey and vision for the future.
The conference was facilitated by The Rev. Kevin and Kathy Coffey and began by reflecting on the journey that Cursillo in our Diocese has traveled and what it meant to each of the conference participants. We moved from reviewing the journey to creating the vision for the future. That was accomplished with the creative design of The Rev. Joe Pickard. The interactive sessions that were developed helped those that attended to work together to see what we can do in the future as well as begin to commit to working on projects to enhance our community.
We would like to thank everyone who helped make this day a success and especially Christ Church, Pompton for hosting the conference and The Rev. John Rollins for providing a wonderful lunch for us.
Continue to look in your NewArk for the next part of the Continuing The Dialog Conference.

Cursillo Speaker's Bureau
Karen Dunsmore
The Speakers Bureau is up and running! Let me tell you why!
I remember my first introduction to Cursillo. This very lovely lady (who I later learned was Lynn Headly Moore) spoke to our congregation about what Cursillo was and how it had affected her life and moved her
toward the Christian actions in which she was involved. I was impressed.... and now introduced.
But then life got in the way and it was years before I heard of it again. But when I did hear of it again I could remember with vivid clarity that talk I had heard what must have been 15 years before. And I "knew" that this was something I had to listen to this time. I "did" my weekend and began to reunion weekly.
It is for this reason that I got involved in the Speaker's Bureau. Our first "real" assignment was on Nov 12, 1998 at the Episcopal Church of the Holy Spirit in Verona, Gabe Sinisi, Rector. I was very excited and began to gather some "people", put out the word and line up a speaker.
Tom Osucha, was our speaker, Elizabeth Eddy our prayer support and spiritual counsel, Barbara Cianculli and Sue Calcagno our musicians, and our witness group consisted of Kurt Gruenberg, Bill Calcagno, Father Gabe Sinisi and myself... We had a good time in worship and in breakfast later.ANYONE INTERESTED IN HELPING IN ANY CAPACITY PLEASE LET ME KNOW:
