Fellowship

Some events are planned for the purpose of raising funds, other events are strictly for the enjoyment of each other's company and to support our parish through Christian fellowship. One of the most important of these events is our Harvest Fair, usually held in November. Planning begins early and our Craft Group creates many gift items for sale. Home baked goods are also for sale. Lunch is served, snacks are available during the day and in the evening a complete dinner and silent auction for about 200 people is served at two sittings. Proceeds from this affair are an important part of the church budget; this year's fair netted about $3,000.

Other fellowship events include the Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper, Sunday School Rally Day and brunch, a Cinco de Mayo supper, Fish & Chips supper, a Mother's Day Brunch (cooked and served by the men of the parish), and a progressive dinner. This year a group went to a minor league baseball game; a Strawberry Festival was held in June and, following the Easter morning service, an Easter Egg Hunt was held for the young folks.

Each year in the spring, the craft ladies plan for a Craft Boutique and English Tea. This has become a popular event with increased attendance each year. Greeting cards are periodically sent to shut-ins and sick parishioners.

It has become a fact of life that following 8 a.m. worship breakfast is served in the Parish Hall thus becoming a regular fellowship event for the early worshipers. Following the 10 a.m. service a coffee-hour presents coffee, tea, punch and cookies (sometimes more) for those who worship at that hour. A parish picnic has been held each year in June at the close of the Sunday
