HABITAT FOR HUMANITY NEWARK
AND
THE EPISCOPAL COMMUNITY TOGETHER
We invite all parishes to continue this grass roots initiative in cooperation with The Episcopal Community to partner with Habitat for Humanity Newark to construct an entire single family home. This exciting prospect of having an Episcopal Home Building Project, that the entire diocese can participate in can be a fulfilling experience.A planning and coordinating committee is being formed and we invite participation in any capacity. Areas of current need include: Public Relations, Speakers, Telephoning, Parish Coordination, Building, Fund Raising, Heading up Youth Group, or in any capacity you want to help out.
In the last several years the Episcopal Community has helped Habitat Newark to build homes to house six families in the Central Ward of Newark, at 15th Avenue and Littleton Street.
This new project will span a six month period, from Summer to Christmas 1998. What a special feeling it will be to volunteer side by side with Habitat Partner Families from ground breaking to moving day.
