Covenant Agreement Documents
On June 10, 2009, Diocesan Council adopted the Covenant Agreement Documents.
The Congregational Vitality Working Group of Council presented the documents as the product of its listening and learnings from the four Covenant forums and the covenant blog. Council members during the summer will consider this Covenant in light of the newly-announced Diocesan mission statement and will continue its discernment of the next steps in the Diocese’s mission, vision and covenant planning process at its September retreat. In the meantime, congregations are encouraged to live into this Covenant by using the vitality and viability characteristics to identify areas of ministry in which they are presently strong and have resources to offer, as well as to consider those areas where needs are unaddressed or help is needed to address vitality/viability issues and to grow ministry capacity.
