Congregations Offering Peace Vigils and Other Observances

Belleville, Christ Church, Candlelight Vigil on Sundays at 7 pm
Wednesday Eucharist at 7 pm – propers for peace and justice

Englewood, St. Paul’s, Candlelight Vigil, Thursdays, 8 pm

Hackettstown, St. James', The sanctuary at St. James' is open to all for prayer, meditation or just a quiet place to think in the presence of God. From now through Good Friday, the Daily Office will be said at 9:00 am Monday through Friday. The church and chapel will be open from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm Monday through Friday. Holy Eucharist Wednesdays at 7:00 pm

Haworth, St. Luke's, Monday-Friday, Church open weekdays from 6-8 p.m. for prayers and meditation. Also Thursdays during Lent - Evening Prayer at 7 p.m.

Hoboken, All Saints, Morning Prayer at 7:30 am, Stations of the Cross, Wednesday 6:45 pm. Prayers for peace, for those in the military, for the human family said at these services

Maplewood, St. George's, Vigils in Time of War, every Sunday evening 6-8 p.m. as long as the war continues.

Montvale, St. Paul's, Prayers for peace, Wednesdays, 7 pm

Morristown, Church of the Redeemer, Wednesdays 7 - 9 pm - Silent meditation 7 - 8 pm
Prayers for peace and Holy Eucharist, 8 pm.

Newark, Episcopal House, open for private prayer 9-4 p.m. daily. Collective prayers, 9:30 a.m., every day during the war in Iraq, except for Wednesday when there is a Eucharist at noon. You may also leave your prayer requests on the table near the chapel. Names of family members serving in the military are posted on the bulletin board near the chapel.

Newark, Trinity & St. Philip’s Cathedral, Prayers for those in the armed forces and their families, for the Iraqi people, for peace, Monday – Friday 12:15 pm

Paterson, St. Paul’s, Monday - Friday 4 - 7 P.M.: church open for prayers and meditations
Wednesdays 7 P.M.: Holy Communion and prayers for peace
Sunday during 8, 10:30 and 1:30 services: Prayers for Peace and Candlelight Vigil

Teaneck, St. Mark’s, Church open for prayers, 24/7
Teaneck Peace Coalition meets every other Sunday, 4 pm

Wantage, Good Shepherd, Prayers for Peace, Monday - Friday 9:00 am
Shalom - Wednesday evenings in Lent, program concludes with a Taize style service.

Wayne, St. Michael’s, Prayers, Tuesday, March 25 at 7 pm
Wednesday, Holy Eucharist, March 26, 9 am
