MEETING NOTES
- We purchased upgrades of Office, Corel, etc. and spent about $8000 on software.
We bought 5 copies of the midi scanner (for church music) so anyone who needs it should speak to Steve.
- Steve was called by John Zinn and asked how we would feel if we got practically
none of our budget asking but if we were asked to work with the new bishop and the diocese as a whole to put together
a 5 year technology plan that everyone can live with. Michael says a small committee of Steve, John Rollins, Chris
Neglia, Michael, and John Zinn are planning a first meeting to see what we need to do. Larry's position has not
been renewed. Chris has been in a couple of times to do software/hardware inventory. Our number is now being presented
as $4,800 to the Convention. We can make a plan on how to use that...
- Michael is frustrated because he has to get everyone on line. AOL small business
product is giving them a run-around and he's getting printing problems from AOL. Our best advice is to get a local
ISP and get local dial account for each- try doing Worldnet and bill it to a diocesan phone number. Another machine
is not a good plan, especially in light of the problems we're already having with technical support
- Convention: Table is set, Directories will be printed, Display - Ken will look
for his stuff about ideal set-up, Steve will bring a laptop and John will bring a monitor, Take tech workshop ppt
and add a page on an optimal system and membership on tech committee, things we've done this year, and Newark e-mail
list, screen grab of tech home page to run in a loop on the laptop at the display, Flyer on Newark list for convention
packet, we have projectors - tech committee and CC projector, Bring Duct Tape!, ** cable and box *** Steve will
find out where to buy one and do it! Contact Scott, Monitor for the stage - Michael is renting 2 screens and a
TV that is rgb 9 pin compatible and AV carts, we'll have a rehearsal Friday AM, Fletcher Harper is doing a presentation
Friday, Friday night projection - take pictures of the bishops of the bishops that have preceeded Jack Spong and
project them - Johnana will bring finished presentation on zip disk. Convention workers: Ken maybe, Jan, Steve,
Cindy, Scott. Our Report- Saturday late morning- Accomplishments - Here's the void - connections in every congregation
and forward to the rector/wardens/vestry/congregation - Jan and Steve get a powerpoint together to accompany
- Plans beyond Convention - can we go beyond standard html - Talk to Cindy M. at
convention about this stuff and see if she can help us put together something. April 10 - Saturday after Easter
- at Christ Church, workshop
- Next meeting Date March 6, Saturday, 9:30 AM , maybe St. Peter's, Morristown
