Minutes

1. Update on transition to Church Pension Group Server - John has found out that they are ready for us to move not only dioceseofnewark.org and also ourdiocese.org at $60/month each. We will have greater flexibility, including cold fusion. John needs to finish negotiating to get Article Manager moved over, too. This will be a large job and John will need some help testing to make sure everything is working and linked. Russ wants to know if we can put CrossRoads on, too. They are on Sprint, now, and would like to move. John suggests that Russ contact CPG on his own. Johanna wants to know what will happen to the idt aliases? The actual addresses are at megapath. Russ asks whether each individual congregation will be able to come into the diocese site. The URLs will all be dioceseofnewark.org/stjames-hackettstown/ etc. Each congregation will be able to have direct access to its own site. CPG is ready now, it will take us about a month to make it happen. Michael is concerned about getting the database options online. Nina and Rob will be able to help with that. There is no budget for this at the moment, but we're going to have the capeability to do lots. We will wait until after convention to get going.
2. Annual Convention
   1. Projectors to be supplied by hotel? - Yes, two! All set. Johnanna has done her power point in xp, so Rob's computer will be available incase.
   2. Taping people at convention - Steve volunteered to help with this?? What's the scoop. It is to be part of the post-convention cd? Susan and Canon Echols have contacted Steve....
   3. What is to be presented?
      1. Johanna's Power Point - Saturday - entertainment
      2. Election Results - Friday, first thing from Russ PPT and then later Election results. and Saturday Preferential and regular balloting instructions.
      3. ERD background and CrossRoads
      4. Resolutions - Saturday
      5. Set up to put up announcements to the ppt - maybe John Murphy can be the person who would be ready to add - Michael will pull off the calendar events and then we can add to that - Rob will bring a scanner so that flyers can be scanned and put up
      6. Budget - Michael will speak to John Zinn and see if he's willing.

3. Web Workshop - March 1, 2003
   1. Who can mentor - Nina, Russ, Scott, Jan, John, maybe Rob - put an announcement on the ppt at lunch time. Include article manager as an option, taught by Russ- geared at district reps
   2. Advanced Session topics - add option, minimum registration of 5 folks
4. New Products
   1. Contribute by Macromedia - enables user to modify pages without ftp access. Steve is investigating an edu license. Each workstation would need the software and permission for a limited section of pages. You essentially download the page, modify it and send it back. It is wysiwyg, no code. After convention, Michael can try it...and then try others. We don't want to move too fast until Steve has investigated the discount.

5. Other Business - Post Convention CD. Russ knows a little. It was supposed to be a hand-out at convention. Now it's more - the ppt, some interviews and voices added to ppt...John asked about putting the bishop's address on it? Susan and Canon Echols are putting this together. It is on Michael's to-do list to speak to Steve. This is mushrooming. After convention there will be a follow-up. The dream was to add a video, but it's down to a cd. It will be about 120 copies. The idea needs some more coordination and discussion. Perhaps Steve should speak with Rob.
