MEETING NOTES
Supper: Outstanding - you missed Sausage Casserole, 7 layer salad, cookies

Convention 2000 - new site, Teaneck, Glenpointe off 95, Larry is going to show Johanna and Michael about the database for elections and Larry is going to do the updates - 3 major parts to the program. Larry is committed to coming back in January to do convention. Dave is still trying to catch up with Larry.
We had a long discussion of submit forms and pdf format files for Michael to put applications and such on the web. Louie is going to create forms for Michael

Web site policy - no action- Steve will send Cindy a note and see if she has a boiler-plate policy

Update on 31 Mulberry - discussion on lists, Steve got a dial-up account for John Zinn for an extra $10, but if anyone wants to do more they can figure it out. John Zinn is now up and running. Steve and Larry spent a lot of time working on things. Some work and documentation needs to be done. The financial software probably only works on novell, but we need to work on the system because the dial-up isn't consistent. We need to discuss stuff like shutting off the computers every night...A server with more capability, consult with the financial software folks as to what would help.

Update on Technology Plan for the Diocese - some pricing has come in, some of the work has been begun. Michael and John have almost finished testing all the computers. Dick Haines is going to be sent the results to do some analysis. Y2K is going along. The Parish Administrator's Fall program is set for Sept. 14. Michael is continuing the in-house training. Larry Falkowski and Dave Jones are scheduled to meet on convention software. Steve will speak with Dave.

Planning for Budget for 2001
we need a subcommittee
-we should build in the downlink site - 31 Mulberry is set up to be able to do it and that's a place - contact Jack Stanton, call Jack Crutchfield (designated at ECTN as the person with the information)- Steve will work on that with Jack.
These were the things discussed in May:

  • Go out and look for alternative funding/grants
  • Video Down-link possibilities
  • CUCME technology for conferencing (Exxon has this, Hal knows about it)
  • Staff time at Episocpal House needs to be allocated for web work
  • $$ to go to get congregations connected - we really need to know who has what - Michael says that if we can put together a telphone survey (hopefully to be filled in on the computer) to go congregation by congregation, he can have someone on staff do the calling.

Request from St. Barnabas Aids Resource Center - 2 needs, vendor in Newark that can help them and second donated machines, but need a cdrom player to load stuff onto their computers. Someone needs to go down to Newark and work on their machines. There is a minority vendors directory at the Oasis office and they should contact Pat Hawkins and Dana to help them find someone. If someone has a day...Episcopal House has the portable CDROM drive that can be used. (John Negrotto's (Hillsdale) fire department will take any computer they can get.) (Kinnelon is having a turn-in your cell phone drive)
Dale will stop by and see what is going on and then she will let us know where we need to go from there.
