Web Workshop- we got about 8 new web sites after the workshop. The diocesan coordinators workshop is coming in the fall in Denver and John is coordinating it and Michael F. is going.
Macromedia is worrying Steve about the educational licences for Dreamweaver. Steve has the latest in a web design book from Macromedia and it comes with a cd.
Convention 2002 - Teaneck, there will be elections
Russ is doing the local elections and Michael has hired the same outside firm for $5000 to handle the General Convention Elections. Russ would like to make some modifications and will work with Larry on this. Russ was very comfortable working on it and would prefer to do it by himself, which worked well. We need to tell Clergy not to punch holes in the left-hand side of the ballot! Steve asked about training someone else under him. The program does not run under Windows 98. If someone is available early January who can spend a day and learn the system to be a back-up. Joe Mangello was interested last year.
Parish Administrators-Russ is looking at this from another point of view. He believes the need for training is out there. The training CDs for Office were scarfed up really quickly. The October meeting is here at Christ Church for technology work. The others are moving through the districts and they are trying to identify the needs. At least 2 folks from Diocese of NJ are attending. Steve will follow up on the survey that Ken set up.
Johanna's note was read. Michael reported that the company is Ambrose and they're really looking at a more advanced level of technology than is available at the moment across the diocese. They're talking about a VPN. Steve said that a VPN is used for security reasons for corportate mail and confidential information. He questions that this is not appropriate for diocesan work. Megapath is going under. They're going to whatever company it is on Monday.

On the adgenda for the training session: how can people find us? A piece
of the workshop address search engines, getting your site to the Red Book.
Budget- John says use last year's and add more. We haven't spent all the $$ yet. Gail has come to Michael and asked to put a cart with projector - the value is being recognized. Shall we get another projector? Michael wants a lockable cart. Steve will ask John Zinn about budget. Perhaps we can invest in admin training.
