ITEMS TO BE DISCUSSED

1

Workshop Postmortem: John - went well. Visual/graphic arts folks hate html editors.
Steve - Netscape composer has a visual page thing built in. The St. Mary's participant was a secretary who was sent (command). She did a great job, anyway. Steve repeated the need to have at least the top page on the DFMS server so it doesn't get lost. Can we build committee members?? Future workshops- software based. Hal - Louie reaffirmed the idea of taking something and adding something it changes it so that you're safe on copyright law. Hold a "Get Connected" workshop - supply modems and e-mail account.

2

Software Purchase update: Steve sent the e-mail and has now a close personal friendship with a Comp-USA salesman at a significantly higher price, but Steve is not hearing from Ray. We want to wait for Ray, but not forever. The Diocese of Newark has an account that was in Computer City, but it should have transfered to Comp-USA. Steve will spend it -ordering one extra copy of Office and Corel, 2 copies of Visual Page. If Ray can do it in the next week, great, otherwise Steve will deal with his salesperson.

3

Title IV page progress: Pages are complete. Michael needs to go through with a fine-toothed comb to make sure that they conform with canons (17) in this diocese. Dale says that she heard that something needs updating. Michael is hoping to get it taken care of in the next couple of weeks and will think about the places thing should be linked.

$12,000

  Total $22,500

For 1998, we have spent $4100 in software, $500 supplies. John will get it in by the 18th.

5

Convention plans - video projection of resolutions. If we can't buy the projector, we'll rent. Michael will get us stuff for projection at convention. Groups wanting to use the projection must produce the powerpoint on a zip disk in advance of the convention. We're putting in for display space. We're putting in for Friday dinner and Saturday lunches. Notify Steve asap to be included. We need to buy video cables and zip drives - out of our 1998 budget.

6

Grant - Louie's idea put some seed $ out to a grant writer to get a state of the art room on the second floor of Episcopal House. (Based on "smart-classrooms"). Dale - if Louie knows a grant-writer and some place with the funds. But...who, where? If we were to put an item in for such, it would be about $2000, at Dale's best guess.

7

Used projector - John will investigate and get back to Steve
