From Johanna: "I do know we are still trying to find a way we can get a
consultatant to work
on the database for the office. We may be getting our servers replaced and
switched to a microsoft platform from Novell. If that is the case we will have
more room on the server for said database. But we still need some to do the
actual building of it and train those involved how to retrieve their data."

1. Web site Re-design: Susan has met with focus groups. She has been to several districts and to an adult forum at Grace Madison. People read the Voice. Lay people look at different things than clergy. Clergy use the web site more than lay, mostly for "archival information". She has yet to meet with the staff. Steve looked at Washington's after talking with Canon Echols. He says the big difference is that ours is more of an insider web site. Dennis has a whole list of stuff and will send it to Jan who will forward it to everyone. Susan will visit all the districts by spring. The next step is to meet with the "stakeholders" and the diocesan staff. John has offered to be part of this stage. Susan met with a web designer. There is no way that we can have much done by convention. What this committee needs to do is to think about what we can do next and where we can go. Susan likes the Diocese of Massachusetts. This is not an all or nothing thing because we can change the top page and then work from there. We can put prototypes into the scrolling ads at convention and Susan can do a survey

2. TV Ads - Dan England says that the ad campaign will not be rolled out maybe Christmas next year, but more probably Spring 2005. They will make some downloadable newspaper ads. From the Evangelism/Church Growth standpoint, we're not ready here, either.

3. Web stats - Steve has gotten Web Trends. Dennis is looking into the process of what to do to run the program (it takes a serious processer to run). We just need to see what is needed.

4. Budget: Steve turned one in on time using the correct year. We lowered it a little. We're trying to pay next year's website this year and we're going to try to roll over our money left into next year.

5. Database coldfusion issue: Michael's simple goal is that the staff will have a relational database in access. They need something and right now small pockets of folks are using little things. Michael is going to bring someone in hourly to train Kitty Kawacki who will work with others. And we'll limp along until ... Dennis says he's a database architect. Robert had the beginning started...but Johanna is out of disk space. The server must be replaced. Michael wants something in place now before he leaves. Perhaps Dennis and Robert and Johanna should talk. Rob has been asked to e-mail what he has done to the committee.

6. Parish Administrators want a recommendation and diocesan support for a package to help them with their job. This question comes up every so often. Russ is researching CMS.

7. Web workshop - April 17 - Steve will check and we'll see about putting it out.

8. Convention - January 23 & 24. Similar to last year with resolutions, elections, announcemnts. Michael is putting together a Convention page for the Voice tomorrow. He will include contacting Jan to get announcements to scroll. Michael will arrange for projectors, etc. through the hotel.

9. Steven told the bishop that he is stepping down in January and recommended Russ as chair of the Technology Committee. Many thanks to Steve for all his work over the years.
