[Daily Record] Men and women shared stories of homelessness, mental illness and addiction, but also recovery and hope Thursday morning during the annual Project Homeless Connect at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church.

Kyree Adams, 35, of Mount Arlington, was asked by his case manager to speak during the opening ceremony.

“I had note cards ready to go, but once I got up there and got started, it came from my heart,” Adams said.

Like others who spoke, Adams talked about how he got to a low point in his life, and how he is making his way back. After hearing several powerful stories, the church doors opened and people lined up to take advantage of the services inside, which ran from hot meals to haircuts.
